Accept that traditional PE, PS doesnt work in crypto

Accpet crypto valuation is 90% based on consensus n little "utility" driven

PE, PS is a narrative

a selling point to get everyone's consensus

"Real yield" return is a selling point,

even btc & eth price is not stable, how would u price yield return?

Same with TVL/mcap, Trading vol/mcap

*mcap/fdv n some metric aren't but thats another post

Its always about consensus so buy with the mind on

who will buy at what price

My quick valuation framework is

• Comparable

• How is it priced to similar competitors

• How many people know about it

• if not a lot, will they buy when they do?

  e.g. youtube, tiktok boys, CEX traders

Bonus Thoughts

will $wld attract more retail because of physical shops + understandable concept?

One more key thing to note is that

u don't have to pick the best to capture the most gains

Plenty people made money with not the best but cheaper tokens

🔹Team

it's always the team, check their ability in

• Execution skill

• Marketing

• Product

• Sticking with the idea n not just go launch another token

@UmamiFinance had a horrible product at the start but with the strong execution & marketing, hence the community & pump

Key note

don't pick the most nerdy team or the biggest bullshxter

It doesn't hv to be the best team but there is also more that 1000 other coins u can invest

🔹Product

Does the product work, what is the mechanism

if its a long term bet, u need a product that someone can use

Also key to know does the token u invest in captures the value?

Do u really understand what the value does the token/protocol capture?

$unibot has a working product with 1000 user but the "fee" is more than 70% from token tax.

Nothing wrong with that but does it change ur "fundamental"?

always check the quantifiable metrics

🔹Catalyst

What catalyst will drive up the market

Don't say BTC will be 3x in 2 years,

Think in BTC will be 3x when will institution comes in,

Things likely happen in event

Failure of continously capture market attention is a big risk that people don't realise

how often do u hold a token for more than 3 months?

crypto bros attention spam is short, they will jump to the next thing real quick if projects don't stay relevant causing token price slowly dry out

How much money u are looking to make, please don't tell me 1m if u only have 1k to invest

Crypto is full of stories of 1 shitcoin to the moon, lottery is not for everyone.

Nothing wrong with buying the lottery, but remember u are ready to lose it all

U can decide u size by

• How much u want to invest this year, what % u expect from it

• I came here to win, its either 1m this year or 0

  ( i hope u have a job or trade other stuff as well)

Sensible crypto investor

90% btc/eth 10% alt coin

find a few 2-10x on alt coin while sitting on btc n eth.

Buy what u think will go up,

just remember to take profit

the common rule take principle n left the rest fly

As mention about catalyst is key in crypto but the bullish event might never come

In crypto we have never ending narratives & stories

• decentralise storage

• living in the metaverse

• mass adoption

• truly bankless 🥲

Some are far some might never happen

Buy the rumor sell the news

uniswap v4, gmx v2, snx v3

all exciting tech, but is it priced in already?

Impact of a catayst

$sol had a physical shops & phones for mass adoption

$wld have physical shops to scan ur eye

Similar direction different impact? same token price in future too?

Some of the examples are the best, but the key is i want u to understand timeframe

• When will it happen

• Right moment/move to capture the timeframe

• Impact of the catalyst

These can be short as a quick trade or long for a seed invesetment, but u NEED to think in this way
