❓ How did you fall into the crypto rabbit hole & founded spice finance?
Shirtless
I am an entrepreneur at first, then found crypto. during my early days starting up, i was also developing my own personal philosophy on life as well as larger scale systems.
I developed a pretty hard libertarian / contrarian bend and the ethos of crypto fit into all the theses i had developed around our broken financial institutions, broken systems of value generation and transfer and sovereign individuals.
The way that we happened upon spice was in playing around in the space ourselves, we had developed a thesis on nfts as long-term becoming the economic primitive for the metaverse at large (e.g., nfts = digital assets, not just pfps and 1:1 art).
We knew we wanted to be involved in a space that could prove to be so fundamental to the future. from there, we combined our previous defi experience with our conviction for nfts to build in nftfi.
Spice came out of a problem we had experienced ourselves trying to lend against nfts, customer interviews we conducted, and industry-level issues we had uncovered.
❓Can you share ur experience being a NFTfi protocol founder?
Shirtless
it's extremely exciting. nftfi rn feels like early defi before defi summer.
that is to say: there is a lot of innovation happening, a lot of competing theses playing out, a lot of foundations being established and a lot of cool + passionate people building.
The anticipation that's building amongst users + builders alike make it really special as well. also, it's fun being at the intersection of two otherwise distinct cultures (nft degens + defi degens).
❓ What is the future plan for the spice?
Shirtless
Right now, spice offers pre-built vaults for its users. the lending strategies that these vaults deploy are determined by the core team.
In the future, spice wants to shift from offering users vaults to offering users the infrastructure by which they can seamlessly spin up their own vaults
with set parameters such as which nft lending marketplace they want to direct liquidity to
which nft collections they want to direct liquidity to,
the value at risk they want to incur, etc.
The end-state of spice be a platform that facilitates and displays a plethora of user-determined vaults.
❓What is your main goal/focus this year? (other than spice)
Shirtless
my main focus is to become / grow into the type of person that will lead spice + deliver value to spicooors well into the future.
eat well, sleep well, read good books, work out well, grind, build community, yield well
